In 1907, Lewis E. Summers established his small business to provide fellow farmers with feed, fertilizer, seeds and other farming supplies.

Over the years, H. C. Summers has evolved into a gardening center and has increased its feed supply services and sales dramatically due to the increased demands of pet, farm and equine ownership in Maryland and Virginia.
